Things of My Very Own

Schenectady, New York

Things of My Very Own, Inc. is a lifeline for children fleeing abuse by providing crisis services that lift fragile children from a place of harm to one of hope. Recognizing that the transition from an abusive situation can be sudden and unexpected, Things of My Very Own gives children basic necessities and “things of their very own” to begin the long healing process.

Over the years, Things Of My Very Own has received assistance from the WGB Foundation for specific projects and purchases, operating support, and emergency funding.

“The William Gundry Broughton Foundation has been a key supporter of Things of My Very Own for several years. Thanks to their support, we have been able to purchase two vehicles that allowed us to expedite our service delivery and save the organization tens of thousands of dollars each year. The purchases have also allowed us to secure new contracts that currently provide personal hygiene products and clothing to ~3,000 children in crisis throughout the 11 counties of the NYS Capital Region each year.”

- Rayn Boncie, Founder & Executive Director
